Seniors

For more than 20 years, SLIC has been an important ministry to the senior citizens of our congregation and community.

SLIC meets monthly, from March through December. Unlike many other ministries which take the summer off, this group has taken off the winter months when poor weather conditions can make coming out to monthly events difficult. SLIC normally meets the third Wednesday of each month, although dates occasionally change due to availability of speakers and places.

SLIC conducts a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of senior citizens. Activities have included movie and soup days, Christmas dinners, picnics at Peace Valley Park, and many more. Often special speakers are engaged to come out and speak to the group on relative topics such as "Safety for Seniors". Missionary speakers that our church supports have also come and shared slides and updates about their work.
