God or Chaos?
Is the world out of control? Is your life out of control?
In this class we explore the Bible's teaching about God's involvement in the world and in our lives, especially in events that are seemingly random and without purpose. Our goals include:
- Growing in understanding God's wisdom and care for us.
- Growing in confidence in God and in praise for God's care.
- Searching out biblical counsel to prepare ourselves for disasters or tragedies that may come to us, and to prepare to counsel and comfort others in tragedies.
- Growing in skill in responding to those who think they live in chaos, and responding to materialistic, evolutionistic views that say we originated from chaos.
- Developing a biblically informed view of chance and probability.
- Studying the Bible's implications for ways in which people try to secure their future, including fortune-telling, astrology, consulting spirits, magic, spells, divination, good luck charms, gambling, and lotteries. (Is 13 unlucky?)
